Our film classification.
I have decided to use the film certificate PG for our film. This means that our short film is suitable for general viewing but the parent/career should decide if the film is suitable for that specific child. This is because the film may contain some scenes that might be found upsetting for some young children. Using this certificate we can protect children from any scenes that may be found upsetting but still reach out to a wider audience. Some young children may find the argument in the film is upsetting so using a PG classification we can protect them from the unsettling images. Although our film will not contain any expletive language or physical violence not all PG films have been created with the younger audience in mind. Our film would be mainly enjoyed by teenagers and adults as young children may not understand the story line. Through giving the film this certificate parents will be able to chose if the film is suitable for their child or not as all children are different and may react to the film in different ways.
We have decided to change this classification. This is because since the first post we have created the script for our film and have made some slight adjustments to some aspects of the film. Due to these changes we have decided to change the certificate of our film from a PG to a 12. We have decided to raise the certificate because of a rude gesture we have added into the film to add to the comedy factor. We have decided that this gesture is not suitable for children under the age of twelve.
