The setting of a film can help the audience undertsand the film, it can help the understand the plot and can even help the audience understand characters.In picking a setting you need to consider:
- The overall aesthetic
- Financial cost
- Available light
- Weather conditions
- Permission from land owners
Domestic Comedy
Domestic comedies are set in generic neighbourhood, set in a conventional house. 
Using a house as a main setting location for a family makes it seem more realistic. This helps the audience relate to the characters and helps the audience see things from their persepectives.
