A film festival is where independent film makers showcase a film they have made in front of audiences and they get feedback on their film and what they have produced. If voted one of the best films of the festival they can get funding to produce and showcase the film. If shown at a film festival the film will already have an audience which would help when releasing a movie.

Another obvious way of viewing short films is on YouTube. This can be easily done as anyone can acces YouTube if they have an internet connection. Also, youtube is a free way of being able to view these films which means it can be accessed by a wider audience. As YouTube is commonly known and on the internet it can be accessed by people worldwide. Due to this they will get a bigger response to the film which could lead to it being a bigger success. It is also easy for people to share videos as they can do it through a computer which they may have at home.
